Within the Processing Plant that treats, tests and globally delivers Vegetable and Flower Seeds they are looking for a people-oriented Manager Quality Control
In this role you own the Quality Control processes, managing several quality testing laboratories. You ensure that all assets and labour on your department and the Quality Control activities within the Plant are managed effectively and in line with the global testing governance model, to deliver the Plant strategy. Managing directly a team of 4 people in dayshift of 3 leaders and 1 specialist and indirectly 35 skilled laboratory staff. You are accountable to deliver the departmental objectives in compliance with all environmental, health, worker safety and bio-safety standards. You manage fixed and variable spend, capital spending and maintenance calibration activities to assure business viability and an efficient asset base aligned with current and future business needs, assuring compliance with our accreditation of Naktuinbouw. You coach and implement employee / team development programmes and training to promote high morale.
The challenge: Implement a Quality Assurance system for the Plant as a default to Quality Control in the packaging and processing area. Build a First-Time-Right and Lean laboratory operation, analysing the workflow and increasing productivity. Cooperate with colleagues from the plant management team to establish a continuous improvement culture for the plant using operational excellence as key enabler and engage people from the department to deliver our strategy. You will be asked to create a future vision for the laboratories that demonstrates the 5 year infrastructural investment requirements and overall people planning.
Wat wij vragen...
For this tactical management role we are looking for somebody with preferably a master degree in agriculture, bio-chemistry or bio-medical. You must have direct leadership experience in managing laboratories or related areas; excellent communication and management skills. You are an experienced quality manager that makes use of Operational Excellence and Lean practices and you are a proven people manager in functional and matrix oriented organisations. Oral and written fluency in Dutch and English is required.
